What is your cause and how will it make the world kinder?

We want to provide the basic necessities of life to people who cannot afford them. To teach our youth to lend a helping hand to others.

How will you use the $10k?

The $10k would be spent over a longer period of time, allowing us to buy food, clothing, hygienic items, travel and living expenses for out of town trips.

What impact do you hope to make?

We want to help our youth change the lives of others by showing that they just care. Our kids are our future and they are going to change the world.

Other Details

The Grind Youth Centre is a non-profit, Christian place in our community where youth, ages 12-18 can socialize and grow in a safe, structured and productive environment. Thought we have different programs that run 5 nights every week, our main focus is our bible study group (called FUEL), which focuses on helping our youth to help others. For the past two years, we have taken a group of youth and leaders to Toronto, Ontario where we spend a weekend on the streets, in soup kitchens, shelters and churches, providing for the homeless and the less fortunate. We do all we can to raise money for our own expenses as well as the supplies we give over the weekend. We also have "mini projects", where we help others in our community, in the same way we do in Toronto. Our goal is to try and expand on the help we can give. Providing more food, clothing and necessary information to be able to take care of our friends on the streets.

Every month, KIND supports one cause with $10,000
